Ode To Friendship was composed with gratitude and appreciation of good friends in my heart. I have been blessed with many, and those friendships have embraced a multitude of changes, yet always inspire a sense of connection and mutual support, regardless of long distances or the passing of decades. Thank you, my friends! The piece was commissioned by pianist and long-time friend Mayumi Akahosi in 2010, and composed in Tokyo during the summer of that year. - Bruce Stark
