We Shall Overcome (2002) was arranged for trombonist Megumi Kanda. It is my hope that this arrangement offers a dramatic and stirring version of a song with deep historical roots in the hearts of oppressed people, and speaks of courage, sadness and resolve.

After the above recording in 2002, I added timpani and a more substantial percussion part, and re-wrote the ending to include a powerful climax with the entire ensemble in full bloom before the music subsides into a quiet, contemplative ending.
