Composed during the pandemic-induced lockdown of spring 2020, To a Child’s Heart (I) is the first of a two-volume set of short piano pieces intended as fresh, intermediate-level recital repertory. Volume one contains 30 works spanning a wide variety of character including waltzes, dances, invention, nocturne, lullaby, groove, hymn, and more. Stark’s Silver Lining album, containing selections from Vol. 1 and Vol 2 of To A Child’s Heart, has been released on Spotify, and video clips of the composer’s performances of the pieces are posted on YouTube.
